We are based in East Anglia and cover Norfolk and Suffolk and surrounding areas. We will and do play further afield though, so please contact us with details of your venue for an accurate quote.

A string quartet consists of 2 violins, a viola (larger than a violin) and a cello. A trio can consist of either 2 violins and a cello or violin, viola and cello

The main difference is the volume and fullness in the sound / texture. The trio will be less than the quartet because there is one less instrument but it will still sound great. Our trio repertoire isn’t as comprehensive as quartet so make sure you check our repertoire lists before making a decision. If you’re on a smaller budget, the trio is a more economical option.

We have a generous network of professional musicians who can step in – even at the very last minute.

Yes we can, but we can only perform outside under adequate shelter and protection from the elements – this includes cold weather, rain and direct sunshine. A gazebo or similar is the most suitable cover – trees do not always provide adequate shelter and the shade of a building depends on the time of day so please check with your venue.

Absolutely – if we haven’t already got the music we can either buy it or get it arranged for you. There would be a small charge for the music but we don’t charge for learning new music. Please ask us if you have a specific piece / song in mind.

Please provide 4 armless chairs (3 for trio) and a space of roughly 2m x 3m. Shelter must be provided if you would like us to play outside. It’s also good if we are provided with a small room / area to put our cases / get instruments out etc. We bring our own music stands.

Yes, no problem – we often move venues. The booking time starts from when you would like us to first start playing and finishes when you would like us to stop playing – so please take the relocation time into account when deciding on the duration of your booking.

We exhibit at several of the ‘Bride: The Wedding Show’ events across the region each year where we will be very happy to play your requests and discuss your requirements with you. Please see our ‘Upcoming‘ events page or facebook for details of upcoming shows.

We generally take a 15-20 minute break for 2-3 hour bookings. Beyond that, we’d need around 10 minutes per extra hour. Breaks will be taken discreetly and we’re more than happy to work around your schedule.

We try to be flexible where possible, but we might not always be able to play past the agreed finish time on the day. Any additional time requested on the day would need to be agreed by all members of the ensemble and paid for up front. With this in mind it’s not uncommon, when planning the event, for clients to book additional time to cover all eventualities.

Yes. We have insurance cover through AMPband and a copy of our certificate is available on request.
