We are based in East Anglia and cover Norfolk, Suffolk and surrounding areas. We will and do play further afield though, so please contact us with details of your venue for an accurate quote.
A string quartet consists of 2 violins, a viola (larger than a violin) and a cello. Our band line-up is vocalist, string quartet and drums. Our band bookings also include DJ.
We have a generous network of professional musicians that we regularly work with and who can step in – even at the very last minute.
Yes we can, but we can only perform outside under adequate shelter (for the whole performance area) and protection from the elements – this includes cold weather, rain and direct sunshine. A gazebo or similar is the most suitable cover – trees do not always provide adequate shelter and the shade of a building depends on the time of day so please check with your venue.
Absolutely – if we haven’t already got the music we can either buy it or get it arranged for you. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible to ensure that we have time to get hold of the music. There would be a small charge for the music but we don’t charge for learning new music. Please ask us if you have a specific piece / song in mind.
Please provide 4 armless chairs and a space of roughly 2m x 3m for string quartet Band requires approximately 5m x 3m. DJ requires approximately 2m x 1m. Sufficient shelter for the whole performance area must be provided if you would like us to play outside. It’s also useful if we are provided with a small room / area to put our cases / get instruments out etc. We bring our own music stands. Band will ideally require 4x 13amp sockets – 2 on each side of the stage (we can bring extension cables if required).
Yes, no problem – we often move venues. The booking time starts from when you would like us to first start playing and finishes when you would like us to stop playing – so please take the relocation time into account when deciding on the duration of your booking.
We exhibit at several wedding show events across the region each year where we will be very happy to play your requests and discuss your requirements with you. We generally take no longer than a 15-20 minute break for 2-3 hour bookings. Beyond that, we’d need another 5-10 minutes per extra hour. Breaks will be taken discreetly and we’re more than happy to work around your schedule.
Please let us know asap if your timings change after you have made a booking. We can usually be quite accommodating with timings, but it’s always best to check.
We try to be flexible where possible, but we might not always be able to play past the agreed finish time on the day. Any additional time requested on the day would need to be agreed by all members of the ensemble and paid for up front. With this in mind, it’s not uncommon, when planning the event, for clients to book additional time to cover all eventualities.
Yes. We have insurance cover through AMPband and a copy of our certificate is available on request from [email protected].
We require an initial £200 deposit for sting quartet (£400 for band and £500 for full day bookings), payable by bank transfer, and a signed booking form to secure the date. Contact Kate via email ([email protected]) or call her on 07717 173090.
Unless a particular dress code is requested, our string quartet will wear smart coloured outfits and suits in order to blend in with your guests, and the band will wear something a little more dressy! We are happy to tailor our dress code according to your requirements and are happy to be as smart or as casual as you like!
We currently have bookings in our diary which are up to three years away – and we recommend our clients book as early as possible to secure our services and to avoid disappointment. Whilst Saturdays tend to be booked up more quickly, it’s always worth checking.
If the date of your wedding changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic please let us know asap. If we are available for your new date then we are happy to transfer your deposit to the new date. If we are unavailable for your new date then we will refund your deposit minus an administration fee. If you decide to change the date of your wedding for other reasons and we are unavailable, then your deposit will usually be non-refundable.
